There are also other dog breeds that can be very unpredictable around children due to their natural instinct to hunt and search prey so would be inappropriate to own around children.

Some people choose to own a specific breed that may have a bad press and come from one of the breed groups that are not best around children, however it is ultimately down to the owners own discretion and personal circumstances - or is it better to be safe than sorry?
