It
is
very important that you
don't rub any Vaseline or petroleum jelly on the parasite before you
tray to remove it as this can encourage it to regurgitate it's last
feed. This will then cause any disease to enter your's or your dog's
blood stream, possibly causing diseases like lyme disease or rocky
mountain spotted fever.
Keep an eye out for a red bumpy rash that looks like a bullseye - this
is often called a
bullseye
tick bite rash and is sometimes
but not always a symptom of lyme
disease.
