Bad Diet - If your dog or puppy is being fed a  grain based dog food this will increase the level of sugar in your dogs body which is perfect for the growth of Candida. Try speaking to your vet about feeding your dog a grain free dog food or speaking to your vet about feeding your dog supplements such as probiotics.

Specific Medications - Just like humans an over use of antibiotics will end up killing healthy bacteria - and it's the same with your dog or puppy. This overuse of certain medications can increase the risk of your pooch getting a yeast infection as they decrease your dog's immune system.Thyroid problems in dogs can also cause this condition.
